Frequently asked questions

Are your products wheat-free?
Yes, all of my granola and granola bar recipes are wheat-free.

Are your products gluten-free?
No. I use pure Scottish Jumbo oats, which are not certified gluten-free and may therefore be contaminated with traces of wheat in the field and in the milling process. All my recipes are, however, wheat-free.

Are your products vegetarian?
Yes, all my products are vegetarian.

Are your products vegan?
I use honey to sweeten the granola.

The granola bars contain both butter and honey.

Can I recycle the packaging?
I use various types of packaging, including cardboard postage boxes, plastic-free padded Jiffy bags, cardboard gift boxes, tissue paper, brown paper tape and paper ‘bubble’ wrap, all of which can be recycled.

The granola bars are packaged in compostable bags, which can be put in your garden compost bin.
The granola bags themselves are laminated so, unfortunately, cannot be recycled and should be put in your general waste bin. I have tested out some biodegradable and compostable packaging for the granola, but these have either not provided a long enough shelf life, or have not held up to shop handling, splitting easily and wasting the product. I am still working towards using a recyclable option and will let everybody know if and when this happens.
